Brenton Thwaites, who is set to star in the upcoming Pirates of The Caribbean 5 as British soldier Henry, recently gave away some plot details regarding the film. Although he stated that he doesn’t know much about the story, he was able to share some information about the character he is set to play in the film.
“It’s about a young man who wants to reconnect with his father, Davy Jones,” Thwaites told Mirror TV. “There’s a curse that prevents him from doing that. I think it’s about how he goes around that and tries to fix it, and he has to save his dad.”
Henry’s story will probably play out in a certain degree in the central narrative of Pirates of The Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Thwaites’ description also sheds some light into the character’s motivation and background in the film.
The 25 year old actor also expressed his enthusiasm of working with Johnny Depp.
“I’m looking forward to it. It’ll be a lot of fun!”
Disney is currently in the process of casting Henry’s love interest in the film. The actresses currently considered for the role include “Miss Potter’s” Lucy Boynton, “Endless Love’s” Gabriella Wilde, Jenna Thiam, “Maze Runner’s” Kaya Scodelario and Alexandra Dowling of “The Musketeers”.
Johnny Depp will be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Geoffrey Rush will also return as Captain Barbossa while Javier Bardem is currently in negotiations to play as the antagonist of the film. Rumor has it that Orlando Bloom could also return to the series as well. Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg will be directing the film while Jerry Bruckheimer will serve as the producer.
Johnny Depp has previously hinted in an interview with The Philippine Daily Inquirer that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 may be the final film in the series.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales is slated to be released in July 2017.
